Angel joined Big Onion Hospitality in 2014 as Kitchen Manager at Fatpour Wicker Park and quickly became an indispensable part of the team. Today, as Area Kitchen Manager, he oversees kitchen operations across all Big Onion venues—ensuring quality, safety, sanitation, and recipe standards are consistently met. With over 15 years of experience in the food and service industry, including leading multiple kitchens for Bar Louie and working with the Lakani Group, Angel brings deep operational expertise and a hands-on leadership style.
Known for his problem-solving mindset and “get the job done” attitude, Angel is the right hand of Executive Chef Jim Heflin, supporting new menu development, mentoring the kitchen manager team, and playing a key role in new store openings. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking creative meals at home for his wife, who remains his biggest fan.
