Arthur Holmer is a visionary entrepreneur with over 20 years of leadership in hospitality and real estate, transforming Chicago’s dining scene and setting industry standards. As Founder & CEO of Big Onion Hospitality, he has spent 13 years developing and expanding renowned restaurant brands across multiple states, creating neighborhood staples known for exceptional guest experiences in the Chicagoland area and beyond.

Beyond hospitality, Arthur is the Founder & President of Boardwalk Capital Holdings, LTD., a Chicago-based real estate investment and management firm. With 25+ years of experience, he oversees capital procurement, acquisitions, and operations. His career path—from computer programming to mortgage financing—ultimately led to his passion for developing hospitality spaces that leave lasting impressions. Arthur is also dedicated to community impact and revitalization. As Co-Founder & President of The Revitalize Foundation and Co-CEO of Revitalize Communities, he champions initiatives in financial literacy, healthcare, and workforce development while fostering affordable housing and urban growth.

Focused on empowering teams and fostering innovation, Arthur centers his leadership philosophy on hiring great people, giving them the tools to succeed, and always prioritizing guest experience. Outside of work, Arthur is passionate about fitness, travel, reading, and spending time with his wife and family. Arthur has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Northern Illinois University. Arthur holds an Illinois Real Estate Managing Broker’s license, is a Certified Tax Specialist from the National Center for Housing Management.
